What was your inspiration for your special day?

The idea was a blush pink, sparkly Christmas Winter Wonderland.

What was the highlight of your wedding day?

Being able to marry each other and share the most special day with our family and friends.

Why did you choose Kelham House?

I’ve always lived in Newark and wanted to get married close to my family home where I grew up. When we looked around Kelham House we both loved the immediate feel of the venue, we wanted a venue with a light open room that would allow for lovely decor. We also wanted it to feel like an intimate venue for the amount of family and friends that we wanted to share our wedding day with. Kelham House has a lovely entry hall which gave us the initial warm feeling especially knowing there would be a Christmas tree stood in the entrance to greet our guests.

How did you decide which menu was right for your day?

We wanted a wintery feeling to our menu but also requested our favourite dessert of sticky toffee pudding and Kelham House were so accommodating with this.

What was the hardest part of your wedding planning?

The longer we had to plan the wedding the more new ideas we came up with to add to the whole experience of the day.

What were your favourite parts of the venue?

We love the rows of trees as you enter the venue which made for some amazing photos on our special day. We also loved the main room as the lighting was pretty and gave a beautiful glisten to blend with our winter wonderland theme.

If you have any advice for new marrying couples, what would it be?

Ensure that you make your day perfect for you both when choosing all aspects during planning as it will definitely be the best day of your life and you will want to re-live it again and again.
