Over the last few months, couples who have had their Wedding between November 2021 and October 2022 have been voting for their suppliers in The Wedding Industry Awards. With various categories to take part in we decided to enter under the title ‘Best Events Team’ in the East Midlands.
As the voting opened all our wonderful couples were straight online to vote, comment and email us words of encouragement. Once the voting closed it was up to a panel of judges to read these votes and decide who had made it through to the regional finals and great news for us – we were one of four event teams to make it!
With high competition within the Wedding industry General Manager Claire, Events Manager Claire and Wedding and Events Coordinator Jessica headed off to the regional finals near Leicester to hear the results.
After a snazzy drinks’ reception of prosecco, canapes and mingling with fellow suppliers, it was time to take our seats. As the categories were read and announced the nerves kicked in within the team. The time then came to announce our category and with two teams being awarded highly commended it was down to us and another team. Anxiously the team waited with bated breath (for what seemed like a lifetime) to hear the words ‘And the East Midlands Wedding Event team of the year for 2023 is………………….KELHAM HOUSE!!’
We must admit – the next few minutes are a blur! We cheered, high-fived, ran, and there were even a few happy tears as we made our way to the stage to collect our award. What a fabulous night we had celebrating!
The award itself means so much to all the team at Kelham House. We work tirelessly for all our couples and since reopening as an Exclusive Wedding and Events venue in 2021 we have thrived at delivering exceptional service. With bookings at an all-time high we will continue to build on this and look forward to an exciting future!
